Retreatment

A root canal retreatment is needed when the tooth that has received root canal treatment fails to heal. New trauma, new decay, tooth fracture, or a loose, cracked or broken filling can cause new infection in your tooth. A retreatment requires removing the canal filling, cleaning the canals, and sealing the canals.  If the canals are unusually narrow or blocked, your dentist may refer you to see an endodontist.
